According to Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the NA “I have honor” faction, the main problem is not that the Armenian government has disagreements with Russia on various issues. it is natural that there may be differences of opinion on various topics.
“The complexity of the situation is that the Armenian government constantly escalates all this, leads to clashes and tries to bring it to a point beyond which it will be impossible to return to the previous relations.
I myself have a large number of unanswered questions about Russia’s action/non-action in this or that situation, but when making any statement or making a decision, one should remember that Russia is the main player in this region and burying relations with it can have unpredictable consequences.
Another important fact: most of the time, analyzes and political assessments are based on situational factors, but the basis is Pashinyan‘s foreign policy course of 2018, the center of which was the sharp lowering of the level of relations with the Russian Federation, which brought with it many serious consequences.
The opportunity to return the relations with the Russian Federation to its normal course and to bring the decisions of the Russian Federation into the framework of strategic-alliance decisions has not been exhausted, but this cannot happen under the conditions of this government, because they have no desire and no will, especially since ideologically, they are in a completely different logic,” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook.
