A digital profile with personal and biometric data of migrants entering Russia will begin to be formed from June 30, 2025 to facilitate control of their status.
As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, this follows from the relevant government resolution.
Thus, from June 30, foreign citizens entering Russia through any checkpoint will have to submit fingerprints and a photograph. This information will also form the basis of a digital profile. As reported by the Ministry of Digital Development, foreigners will be able to create a digital profile on their own if they wish – in the RuID application. This is an analogue of government services for foreigners, which will be developed as part of the experiment. In it you can report your visit to Russia and receive services in the country, for example, apply for health insurance or register with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The changes will not affect citizens of Belarus, children under six years of age, diplomats and employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states in Russia, as well as members of their families, employees of international organizations and their representative offices accredited in the Russian Federation, and members of their families.
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that the Russian authorities must clearly monitor the entry of migrants into the country and their further movement based on the most modern technologies.
