The kidnapping of Melidopol Mayor Ivan Fedoro by a 10-member Russian military force has caused a great deal of controversy over his refusal to cooperate with Russian forces.
As Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine for the third week in a row, Russian troops are besieging and attacking the Ukrainian city of Melidopol.
Mayor Ivan Fedoro, who refused to cooperate with the Russian military in surrendering the city of Melidopol, has been abducted by a 10-member Russian military team from the Emergency Center.

Speaking on the occasion, Ukrainian President Gelensky said that Mayor Ivan Fedoro, who had bravely defended the Ukrainian people, had been abducted by Russian troops. The people of any country that adheres to 100 percent democracy know that this is anti-democratic.
Russia’s attempt to remove a local Ukrainian official from office against Russia underscores Russia’s next-door terrorism. Mayor Evan Fedoro says kidnapping is the biggest war crime against democracy.
He further added that the actions of the Russian military were in line with the actions of the IS terrorists.
