Russian military action against Ukraine unfortunate; Ensure safety of Indians: PB | National | Deshabhimani

by time news

New Delhi: The CPI (M) Politburo has said that Russia’s military action against Ukraine is unfortunate. The PB said in a statement that the war between Russia and Ukraine should end immediately and that peace should prevail.

Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the US-led NATO has been steadily expanding into the eastern border in defiance of its commitment to Russia.

Attempts to include Ukraine in NATO pose a direct threat to Russia’s security. Russia’s security is also under threat due to the threat of NATO forces and missiles on its borders in Eastern Europe. Therefore, the argument that Russian security should be guaranteed and that Ukraine should not be included in NATO is justified.

At the same time, the US and NATO’s rejection of Russia’s demand and moves to send more troops to the battlefield exacerbate the problem. For peace to be established, the real concerns of all peoples, including the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine, must be addressed. Negotiations should be resumed and the two parties should abide by the agreements made earlier.

At the same time, the Politburo demanded that the Indian government ensure the safety of thousands of people, including students in Ukraine, and that all Indians be evacuated from the battlefield.
