Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl Promises Smooth Performance
GSC Game World is determined to deliver a stable framerate and consistent performance for players in Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. Details about the system requirements have shed light on the hardware needed to achieve this.
While minimal specs suggest the game might not be overly demanding, even with graphical settings scaled down, the recommended specifications reveal that achieving the full visual potential might require some serious hardware.
GSC Game World confirmed previously that the Xbox Series X version will target 30 frames per second upon release on November 20th.
"To meet our optimization expectations on Xbox and PCs, we’ve implemented numerous changes to render threads, CPU optimizations, and RAM optimizations. We’re nearly finished with the entire polishing process. Our goal is to provide a game that runs constantly with stable FPS and consistent performance," stated the developer.
Developed with Unreal Engine 5.1, GSC Game World calls their customized version "Unreal Engine 5.1.GSC" due to extensive modifications needed to cater to the vast scale of Stalker 2’s world.
Technical Producer Yevhenii Kulyk confirmed that Nanite and Lumen, two crucial Unreal Engine 5 technologies, will indeed be incorporated into Stalker 2.
"We’re aware that our player base, especially our veteran fans, are looking forward to mods. We’ll bring mods to consoles, making them accessible on both Xbox and PC. We’re preparing a comprehensive toolkit that equips modders with all the necessary tools to create mods, ranging from small tweaks to complete overhauls," added Yevhenii Kulyk.
