Pakistan speedster and cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar says that Sachin Tendulkar is the best batsman in the world and when it comes to captaincy, he is simply a failure. Akhtar also said that he felt that Sachin was under pressure when he took over the captaincy.
Akhtar said this during an interview with Ball News. Akhtar also mentioned Sachin Tendulkar while talking about Virat Kohli, another former Indian captain.
“I believe that Sachin Tendulkar is the best batsman in the world. But as a captain he was a failure. He resigned himself as captain.
I was talking to one of my friends about Virat Kohli and we had the same thing to say about him.
He failed. Virat is going to play on the strength of his mind. We saw his performance in the T20 World Cup when his mind was calm,” said Akhtar.
Akhtar said that Virat’s batting has led India to victory many times and Virat’s batting is outstanding in chasing.
We should also check the fact that Virat scored 40 centuries while chasing. People say that I admire Virat Kohli a lot. Why not praise Virat? At one time it was Virat’s centuries that led India to victory,’ said Akhtar.
