On Tuesday, the Mayor of Al-Dur District in Salah al-Din Governorate, Youssef Daoud, announced a plan to build new government departments and courts and develop streets in residential neighborhoods, while revealing that the completion rate of model school projects within the Iraqi-Chinese agreement reached 90%.
The mayor of Al-Dour district, Youssef Dawoud, told the (INA): “Some government projects in the district are funded through the Emergency Support for Food Security and Development Law, which include developing residential neighborhoods and completing sewage networks.”
He added, “The sewage project in the district faced major financial problems, which led to its cessation, and resulted in the deterioration of the structure of streets and residential areas, and also negatively affected the progress of the rest of the service projects in the district.”
He pointed out, “The governorate has an annual plan to develop residential neighborhoods, build schools, and develop water and electricity projects,” noting that “the Reconstruction Fund’s plan for the liberated areas includes building state departments and courts and developing streets in residential neighborhoods, and it is moving forward.”
Daoud pointed out that “Al-Dur district witnessed an urban renaissance during the past few months that covered about 50% of the district,” stressing at the same time that “the completion rate of the school construction project within the model schools project has reached advanced stages of about 90%,” pointing out that “Opening some schools during the coming period.”
The mayor of Al-Dour District confirmed that “the administration of Salah al-Din Governorate and Al-Dour District are seeking to solve the problems obstructing the reconstruction process, especially the sewage project, which represents the biggest challenge facing the district.”
