Eggar’s daughter described her as possessing a “long, fabulous life,” and remembered her mother as “Beautiful, intelligent and tough enough to be fascinatingly vulnerable.” Stern shared that her mother passed peacefully, surrounded by family, with her daughter present, “holding her hand, telling her how much she was loved.”

Born in London in 1939 to a British Army officer, Samantha Eggar spent her formative years in Hampstead. Her artistic journey began on the stage, honing her craft with appearances at the Old Vic and the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre before transitioning to film and television in the early 1960s.
