The family of Diana Sánchez Barrios called on the capital authorities to report the progress of the investigation into the attack against the activist, which occurred on October 17 in the streets of the historic center.
Through a statement, the local representative and sister of the activist, Silvia Sánchez Barrios, expressed her gratitude to the Head of Government, Clara Brugada, for the support and protection measures provided, while asking to go “to the last consequences” for the justice of the case.

“We trust her and wish to maintain close cooperation with justice institutions. However, we reiterate our request to go to the ultimate consequences in the search for justice,” he noted.
Finally, he acknowledged that the recent acts of violence that occurred in broad daylight in the center of the City “require forceful security actions” such as the recent reinforcement of surveillance with police presence.
“The merchants who work there and the people who walk through its streets express our concern about the violence and we will be firm so that impunity does not prevail in this, or in any other case,” he assured.
