ASanthwanam is probably the first name that Malayalees say when asked what is their favorite Asianet series. The reason is that there has never been a series that has gained so much space in the hearts of Malayalees. The main characters in the series are the ‘Santvanam’ family who run a grocery store called ‘Krishna Stores’. The series manages to beautifully transplant small compromises and quarrels at home to the screen. The actors who play any of the characters in the series have become the favorites of the Malayalees. Few Malayalees do not know Sajin and Gopika Anil who appear with Shiva and Anjali in the series. Sajin has shared the news that the role of Lord Shiva has been recognized by the serial lovers. Sajin also shared a post on Instagram thanking him for being considered for the award.

Saj’s wife is actress Shafna, who is well known to Malayalees. Sajin says that it was Shafna who brought him to the series. Shafna and Sajin fell in love while acting in the movie Plus Two. Sajin was looking for opportunities even after Plus Two but later it was Shiva who came to the screen.
Santhvanam is a remake of the Tamil series Pandyan Stores. The serial depicts the lives of a boy, his wife Devi and three brothers who run Srikrishna Stores. Chippy, Rajeev Parameswaran, Gopika Anil and Sajin will play the lead roles in the serial.
