“Kaspersky Lab” discovered a new way to steal personal data of users: for this, scammers, under various pretexts, ask to install a supposedly new banking application, which is actually a program for remote access. Using the software, attackers can gain access to online banking on Android devices.
First, criminals call users and offer them to install new versions of banking applications, motivating this, for example, with problems due to sanctions. Then, via messengers, the attackers send an installation package, and after installation on the device, the criminals get access to the smartphone. Kaspersky Lab recommends not clicking on unverified links or downloading files sent from dubious messages, as well as installing applications only from official resources, after looking at software reviews.
