On the 10th, billionaire Elon Musk broadcast some excerpts from the “We, Robot” event organized by his automotive and energy company Tesla. On this occasion, the prototypes of the humanoid robots called “Optimus” were presented, leaving many people around the world impressed.
The robots appear to interact with humans, serve drinks and dance, showing that they are capable of carrying out simple everyday tasks such as serving food, cleaning and even walking dogs.
What for some is a cause for celebration in the face of great technological progress, for others is a cause for concern. A graduate in Computer Science and also in Theology, Fernando Moreira, for example, published an article in which he comments on the association of these advances with biblical prophecies.
“Technology is in fact not the antichrist, but the antichrist will use it for his government and manipulation,” Moreira wrote, underlining that humanoid robots, in the future, could be used to persecute and control the population.
“The antichrist does not have the ability to create anything because he is not God, but he knows very well, as an excellent trader, how to use technology to track, monitor, control and manipulate people,” he said in an article for Guiame.
The scientist concluded by stating that “what could be a good thing has been used to intimidate, generate dependency and control, and move the population as if they were cattle.”
Interference
Pastor and writer Lamartine Posella also followed the same reasoning as Moreira, wondering how the world will react to this technological evolution. For religious people, the risk that these machines will be used to limit human freedom is real.
“Elon Musk’s robots will have consciousness, decision-making power and will interfere in the daily lives of their owners. What will happen in the future?”, asked the parish priest in a live broadcast on Instagram. Clock:
