The security forces detained the pastor of the New Life Church, Vyacheslav Goncharenko, according to the Khrystsyanskaya Viziya telegram channel.

According to the channel’s authors, “20 submachine gunners from the GUBOP” broke into the pastor’s house. The house was searched, the pastor and his son-in-law Ilya Budai were detained.
Recall that in September 2022 pastor Vyacheslav Goncharenko was detained by the police. He was accused of “holding a meeting on September 18, 2022.” The meeting probably meant the Sunday service, which the parishioners of the church had been holding on the street for the second year. As a result, the court fined him 100 basic units.
Recently, Novaya Zhizn received two warning letters: one of them called for the recognition of church products as extremist materials.
The building of the church “New Life” began to be demolished in June of this year. Once upon a time there was a cowshed in this place, in 2002 the parishioners made a church here on their own. In 2005, the city authorities deprived the religious community of the right to use the land despite the fact that it was allocated to it indefinitely. And in 2021, they demanded that the building be vacated for its subsequent demolition.
