Senate validates reform on the unchallengeability of modifications to the Court

With ⁣the ⁢vote of 23 state‍ congresses, the Senate of the Republic declared the validity of the constitutional reform that prevents​ the Supreme ​Court of Justice ⁢of the ‌Nation (SCJN) from ruling on amparos, controversies and unconstitutionality actions⁤ regarding ‌modifications to the Constitution.

The reform to⁤ constitutional Article 105 determines that “constitutional controversies or unconstitutionality actions that ‌have the ‌objective of contesting additions or reforms to this Constitution are inadmissible.”

It also modifies⁣ constitutional article⁣ 107, which establishes that‍ “the amparo trial against additions⁣ or reforms to this‍ Constitution will not proceed.”

And a transitional article is established that ⁢states that, “matters​ that are in process must be resolved in accordance with the provisions contained ⁤in this⁢ Decree.”
