Sensex down 600 points | Sensex starts with 600 points down

Mumbai: The Mumbai Stock Exchange started trading on a bearish note on Tuesday, with the Sensex down 350 points to close at 61,437 in early trading. Meanwhile, the Nifty fell 104 points to 18,317 in the national stock market.

As of 09:36 am, the Sensex was down 586.29 points at 61,219.90. The Nifty was down 182.40 points at 18,238.05 on the NSE.

Indian equity markets opened lower on Tuesday due to a weak environment in global markets. All categories of stocks, including banking stocks, showed declines.

As far as individual stocks are concerned, Axis Bank, Ultra Tech Cements were bullish. Sunpharma Industries, State Bank of India, Kodak Mahindra Bank, Titan Company, IndusHindu Bank, HDFC Bank, ITC, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, TCS, Nestle India, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Bajaj Finserv, Marut Suzuki, Wipro, Tata Motors etc. Stocks had fallen.
