Akshay Kumar, who is the leading star of Bollywood, is facing a series of failures. Let’s have a detailed look at that and the collections of his past films.

‘What happened to our town?’ This question beyond Bollywood has arisen all over India as to what is wrong with Akshay Kumar’s films. To be honest, even he didn’t know. “You can’t blame the fans. Their tastes have changed. We have to change the story to suit them” says Akshay every time the film fails. But the only thing left is that his fans said, ‘If you say it, you don’t do it’.

Akshay Kumar Movies in 2021:

Bell Bottom: It was a time when people who were confined during the Corona period saw a change in their tastes after watching various movies. Akshay’s ‘Bellbottom’ released on August 19. Made on a budget of over Rs 160 crore, the first day collection of the film was just Rs 2.75 crore. It didn’t even cross Rs 20 crore in the first week. Overall, the film collected only Rs.40 crores.

Suriyavanshi: ‘Suriyavanshi’ is a consolation for this defeat. Released in November, the film collected Rs 26 crore on its first day. Made on a budget of Rs 160 crore, the film grossed over Rs 200 crore.

Atrangi Re: The movie ‘Atrangi Re’ was released on 24th December directly on Hotstar OTT site. Dhanush acted in Akshay Kumar opposite Sara Ali Khan. The film received mixed reviews.

Bad 2022 for Akshay Kumar:

Bachchan Pandey: Directed by Fahad Samji, the film released on March 18 and starred Akshay Kumar alongside Keerthy Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film, which is an adaptation of the Tamil film ‘Jigarthanda’, did not receive the expected response from the audience. Made on a budget of Rs 168 crore, the film failed to collect Rs 70 crore overall.

Samrat Prithviraj: Based on the historical story, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ was released in a pan-India manner. Made with a budget of over Rs 200 crore, the film collected only Rs 80 crore. Akshay Kumar had high expectations for the film.

Raksha Bandhan: ‘Raksha Bandhan’ released on 11th August along with Aamir Khan’s ‘Lal Singh Satta’ did not do well. Made on a budget of over Rs 70 crore, the film grossed close to Rs 60 crore. Akshay hoped that the film would be a ‘family-celebrating hit’.

Ram Sethu: ‘Ram Sethu’ was released pan India based on the story of Ram Bridge. With a budget of over Rs 150 crore, the film grossed Rs 90 crore worldwide. The film suffered a loss of nearly Rs 60 crore at the theatrical release.

Will 2023 wipe out the woes? – In this case, last year was considered a sad year for Bollywood as a whole, but now ‘Pathan’ is recovering that misery with a collection of Rs.1000 crores. In this case, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Selfie’, which was released in theaters on February 24, has given a bad start with Rs 2.50 crore on the first day. Including the 3-day weekend, the film is struggling to collect Rs 10 crore. Akshay Kumar is saddened by the poor reception of the Rs 100 crore budget film. It is believed that the Hindi remake of ‘Suraraippouttu’, which will be released in his next role, will be the end of his past failures.
