Setrag informs all railway users of the temporary disruption of rail traffic following the derailment of an ore train which occurred this Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 2 p.m., between the stations of Mboungou Badouma and Lifouta, at kilometer 569 +100.
This incident occurred in an area not renewed as part of the Track Upgrading Program (PRN) and will be dealt with in phase 2 of the PRN, the subject of amendment No. 4 currently being prepared.
No injuries were reported. However, 18 wagons overturned, destroying approximately 700 meters of track.
Consequently, the circulation of all trains is temporarily disrupted. All teams are currently mobilized on site to clear the track and restore it as quickly as possible. The normal restoration of train traffic is planned for Tuesday October 15, 2024.
Thus, passenger train No. 731, departing from Owendo station, will exceptionally end its journey at Lastourville station on Monday October 14 at 8 a.m. Passengers bound for Moanda and Franceville will continue their journey via a bus service set up by Setrag for this purpose.
Passenger train No. 712 departing from Franceville, initially scheduled for this day, is postponed to Monday October 14, 2024 at 12 p.m. departing from Lastourville station, according to the following organization:
