Settat: the INDH organizes a communication meeting on the occasion of International Cooperatives Day

This meeting, attended by representatives of cooperatives active in the field of crafts, beneficiaries of support from the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), and other relevant services, highlighted the opportunities offered by the INDH in favor of cooperatives, as part of the strengthening and development of the social and solidarity economy in the province.

This celebration was also an opportunity for cooperatives to exchange their best practices and discuss the best ways to promote their products and promote their marketing.

In a statement to MAP, Rachid Hajoum, head of the Income Improvement and Economic Inclusion of Youth department in the province of Settat, said that the fields of beneficiary cooperatives are diversified, including in particular crafts, agriculture and creation.

In this sense, he indicated that this celebration is in the wake of program III, “Improvement of Income and Economic Inclusion of young people”, of the 3rd phase of the INDH, noting that this program is intended for young people and targets financial and technical support, job creation and the promotion of the social and solidarity economy.

Stressing that the INDH also provides significant support to cooperatives and project leaders, Mr. Hajoum highlighted the contribution of partners the provincial directorate of agriculture, the regional directorate of crafts and the Office of Development of cooperatives (ODCO).

Furthermore, Ayoub Ahzab, president of the Barakate Ouled Idder agricultural cooperative (workshop for packaging honey and other beehive products) in the province of Settat, explained that the help from the INDH allowed him to equip himself with necessary equipment in order to work in good sanitary conditions, noting that the Initiative also allowed them to participate in several national exhibitions to market their products.

For his part, the director of the Zahrate Al Hayat agricultural cooperative of beekeeping, Abdellah Salman, welcomed the support of the INDH in obtaining certification from the National Product Safety Office (ONSSA), specifying that the Initiative has enabled its cooperative to take a step forward in the development of its activities.

The celebration of the International Day of Cooperatives is part of the promotion of the social and solidarity economy, an essential pillar of sustainable development and a fair economy.
