Several arrests and hundreds of kilos of drugs seized

Significant quantities of drugs have been seized by customs and excise authorities in recent months in Luxembourg.

290 kg de hashish

During a truck check in early January 2023, customs officers discovered a hiding place that was under the usual load of a semi-trailer from Spain, using their mobile x-ray installation. The checks that followed revealed no less than 290 kg of hashish.

On the orders of the Luxembourg public prosecutor’s office, the drugs were seized, the driver arrested and presented to an investigating judge.

179 kg of cannabis

In late January 2023, customs officers further checked a semi-trailer truck bound for Ghent, Belgium, after drug detection dog Dino spotted a type of drug he was familiar with.

The 179 kg of cannabis discovered were seized on the orders of the Luxembourg public prosecutor’s office and a more in-depth investigation was opened.

100 grams of heroin and 100 grams of hashish

In early February 2023, a drug trafficker was arrested by customs officers on a train from Belgium.

During the check, the drug detector dog Gwen, drew the attention of the officers to the fact that among the passengers, a man was carrying more than ordinary luggage. The check that followed led to the seizure of approximately 100 grams of heroin, 100 grams of hashish and 100 grams of cutting products, as well as €1,740 in cash.

On the orders of the Luxembourg public prosecutor’s office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
