Snorkeling is a popular water sport at Atlantis Paradise Island, an amusement park in Baltimore.
The company “Blue Adventures by Stuart Cove” organized an entertainment show for the visitors in the largest tank with sharks on the island called “Shark Tank”.
At the event, the Shark Tank was equipped with the facility of “snorkeling” to see the sharks.
A couple came with their 10-year-old son for the game. They were also swimming in that tank and seeing sharks.
The little boy was swimming happily as he saw the sharks with interest.
Then two sharks swam near him. Unexpectedly, a shark suddenly pounced on him and bit him.
The water in the tank turned like blood. His parents who were swimming with him were shocked to see this.
Achiruvan’s father immediately swam to his son and lifted him up.
He was rushed to the hospital with the help of security guards. There it was found that his leg was severely bitten by sharks.
Achiruvan was treated and is now recovering.
The boy’s parents had signed some documents explaining the risks before participating in the event. Therefore, since they voluntarily took part in the event aware of the risk, the organizing company has abdicated its responsibility.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force is investigating the incident.
