Valery Fernández is the name of a 38-year-old woman living in Doral, Miami, who was recently arrested for an alleged case of child abuse against her son.
According to local media reports, the woman appeared in court in a wheelchair and was given bail of one thousand dollars, which she said her boyfriend would pay, since she supposedly did not have such money.
It turned out that the case originated on February 7, when the boy told a trusted person that his mother had hit him with a belt repeatedly.
The arrest warrant document indicates that there were up to five times that the woman used the belt to attack the minor, even causing injuries to the area of his left biceps.
Subsequently, Miami police showed up at the defendant’s home and took her to the general investigation unit of the Doral Police Department.
There, the woman refused to testify without the presence of her lawyer. She was then transported to the Tuner Guilford Knight County Jail, where she awaited her hearing.
