ABU DHABI: As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced a charity project of one billion dirhams (Rs 22,57,69,45,430) called ‘Mother’s Endowment’. The welfare of mothers is mainly targeted through this initiative. The aim is also to raise funds for educational purposes in the UAE. It will support education and vocational systems of disadvantaged groups thereby enhancing their quality of life, employment opportunities and social upliftment.

Sheikh Mohammed appealed to the public to participate in the initiative through a video shared on the X platform. ‘Sisters and brothers… a blessed month is upon us. In line with our annual tradition of launching a Ramadan campaign for the people of the Emirates, this time we are launching the ‘Mathru Endowment’. A Dh1 billion educational endowment is being launched as a charity for mothers in the Emirates,’ Sheikh Mohammed said on X.
