In Saturday’s episode of the TV 2 hit “The Guardian,” actor Johannes Joner (65) delivers a twist that very few of the remaining participants had anticipated.
In what for many of the other celebrities is a pre-planned game, where the revealed “mole” Anders Hoff (48) faces a choice to either eliminate himself or Silje Sandmæl (46), Joner unexpectedly comes in from the sidelines and sacrifices himself to secure Hoff and Sandmæl.

The agreement to go home was made with Hoff behind the others’ backs and comes like a bolt from the blue for the rest.
– I found myself in a position where I could play my own game, and I’m very satisfied with that, Joner tells Nettavisen.
– Felt right
Overall, Joner is satisfied with his participation, even though he did not make it to the top.
– I was never going to win this anyway, as there were so many strong players. So I hadn’t thought I would get as far as I did. I also found myself in a position where I felt I had gotten everything I wanted out of it.
– And at that point, it felt right to step back and let someone else move forward. The choice was right for more than just me, he says.
SATISFIED: Johannes Joner smiled widely when it was announced that he had to go home.

He is very glad he said yes to participate in “The Guardian”:
– It has become a memory for life, and I have made many new friends. I am actually a bit surprised at how exciting, fun, and pleasant it turned out to be. And there will be more surprises ahead, so just look forward to it, says Joner.
THE CREW: Johannes Joner made it halfway in “The Guardian,” and is quite pleased with that.

Left wanting more
Joner, who has consistently steered clear of reality shows for many years, has now opened his eyes to possibly saying yes a little more often.
However, he does not say yes to just anything.
– I am somewhat scared of reality, because you never know how you will come out in such a situation, the actor says regarding why he has been somewhat negative in the past.

At the same time, the 65-year-old is quite clear that being locked in a house would not be for him.
– So you probably won’t see me in “The Game.” But I could have joined “71 Degrees North,” because it’s about mastering and achieving things and pushing yourself more than you like, he says.
– And there was a bit of that here as well, so I feel it was a good program to be a part of. So I’m very glad I said yes.
