The Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen has established the “Valikaya Belarusian Five” and “Vyalika Belarusskaya Semyorka” badges, which will be awarded for trophy hunting. The first such sign was presented to Alexander Lukashenko by the chairman of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen Igor Shunevich during a meeting on November 13.
“Let me introduce you to our innovation with the aim of popularizing hunting in the country, including trophy hunting, attracting foreign hunters and developing domestic competition. We followed the global trend in the hunting industry and created such a nomination in Belarus. It is called, in our manner, “Vyalikaya Belarusian five” and “Vyalikaja Belarusian seven,” explained Igor Shunevich.
According to the press service of Alexander Lukashenko, signs for trophy hunters were made by jewelers using precious metals – gold and silver. “Seven” is intended for men, “five” is intended for women. To receive a reward, they must obtain trophies within a certain period of time, which are indicated in a special provision. For example, the Belarusian “five” includes elk, deer, roe deer, wolf and wild boar.
According to the head of BOOR, similar ratings exist in other countries of the world and when creating the domestic mark, experts relied on the experience of Africa. In particular, the “African Big Five”, which includes the elephant, rhinoceros, leopard, lion and buffalo, are well known among hunters.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that he is not a hunter, so he will give the award to the museum.
