Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei issued a statement “regarding the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.”
Khamenei said in the statement: “The martyr Sinwar was the bright face of resistance and struggle and stood against the oppressive and aggressor enemy with steely resolve,” noting that he “dealt a strong and courageous blow to the occupation, and immortalized in the history of this region the memory of October 7, which is impossible to replace.”
He pointed out that “a person like him spent his life confronting the usurping and oppressive enemy, for whom there is no end other than martyrdom,” adding: “The Resistance Front did not stop its progress with the martyrdom of its most prominent figures, as in the past.”
Khamenei stressed, “With the martyrdom of Sinwar, the resistance front will not witness the slightest halt, as the Hamas movement is alive and will remain alive.”
He concluded his statement, “I send my congratulations on the martyrdom of our brother Yahya Al-Sanwar, to his family, his comrades in jihad, and all those passionate about jihad for the sake of God, and I offer my condolences for his loss.”
On October 17, the Israeli army announced the assassination of the head of the Hamas political bureau, Yahya Sinwar.
The Israeli army announced that it had killed the guard of Hamas leader Yahya Al-Sinwar, Mahmoud Hamdan “Abu Youssef,” meters away from Al-Sinwar’s location, where he was clashing with soldiers of his forces.
The Israeli army said that it killed Hamdan on Friday, and that he was “responsible for guarding” Al-Sinwar.
