Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich expressed his concern over the US decision to refrain from using its veto power in the UN Security Council on the ceasefire in Gaza.

This was reported by The Times Of Israel.

His statement notes that such a step on the part of the United States plays into the hands of Hamas terrorists and interferes with efforts to stabilize the region. He stressed the need to eliminate radical forces and support moderate groups to achieve this goal.

Smotrich also expressed Israel’s determination to continue to fight Hamas until it is completely destroyed and all hostages are returned. He emphasized that relations between Israel and the United States have always had a partnership component, and not the subordination of one state to another.

Noting his disagreement with the US government’s position, Smotrich called for national unity in Israel during the ongoing conflict with Hamas terrorists. He expressed his support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and stressed the importance of making decisions despite possible disagreements with other countries.

Earlier, Cursor reported that Netanyahu rejected Gantz’s offer to send a delegation to the United States. Gantz said the special relationship between Israel and the United States is a key element in ensuring Israel’s security.

“Cursor” also wrote that Galant made a statement regarding the UN resolution on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Gallant said that without a clear and absolute victory over Hamas, the Gaza Strip could become a source of new threats, including a possible escalation in the north.
