Moscow will receive about 400 electric buses of domestic production by the end of the year, the delivery of transport is expected as part of the largest purchase of 1200 units, informed in his Telegram channel, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
Electric buses are supplied to Moscow under life cycle contracts. This means, as Sobyanin explained, that from the moment of transfer to the Mosgortrans fleet, the manufacturer bears full responsibility for their technical serviceability for 15 years.
According to him, electric buses are constantly updated. So, new models are able to cover 80 km without recharging, and not 40-50 km, as before, the head of the city added. More than 100 new cars are now operating on Moscow routes, according to Sobyanin.
In June, the Moscow authorities promised to double the number of electric buses to 2255. Then Sobyanin specified that additional electric buses would be supplied “KAMAZ» i GAZ Groupcontracts with them have already been signed.
Nikolay Odintsov, Vice President for Development of Corporate Sales of GAZ Group, said in early March that the company plans to produce from 250 to 300 new electric buses per year. He then noted that in addition to Moscow, electric buses will be delivered to St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Krasnoyarsk and Krasnodar. The company intends to expand deliveries to 11 Russian cities.
