Signed an ESL supply contract with Malaysia’s largest telecommunication company

SoluM is accelerating its expansion by winning successive orders in the Southeast Asian market. On the 10th, SoluM announced that it had signed a contract to supply ESL (electronic shelf labels) with Malaysia’s largest telecommunications company ‘Celcomdigy’.

This is another achievement in the Southeast Asian market following the signing of an ESL supply contract with Macro, a large Thai distribution chain, last August. Through this, SoluM once again proved its technological prowess and growth potential in the Southeast Asian market.

Celcomdigy is Malaysia’s No. 1 telecommunications company with approximately 20.3 million subscribers and is a powerful brand with a market share of 40%. This contract is part of Celcomdigy’s recent large-scale rebranding, with the goal of converting offline stores into experiential spaces to provide differentiated customer experiences. It is said that SoluM was selected as the optimal partner to implement Celcomdigy’s vision.

SoluM ESL allows for easy price changes and various discount promotion settings, and was evaluated as a suitable solution for the experiential store operation pursued by Celcomdigy. In particular, it has excellent waterproof and moisture-proof functions and can maintain uniform color, making up for the shortcomings of the existing ESL tag, which was vulnerable to the Malaysian climate. Accordingly, both companies are discussing the introduction of digital screens in addition to ESL, and details will be decided later.

Celcomdigy’s introduction of ESL is also having an impact on its competitors. According to SoluM, one of its competitors in Malaysia has also introduced SoluM’s ESL on a pilot basis in some stores and is considering applying it to more stores in the future. It seems likely that ESL adoption will spread throughout the industry.

Meanwhile, SoluM sees Southeast Asia as an important growth market and is accelerating its business expansion. In the first half of this year, new sales corporations were established in Singapore and Australia, and a corporation is scheduled to open in Vietnam within this month. In addition, the company plans to set up offices in Indonesia and Malaysia, and its strategy is to target the market by increasing customer contact points throughout Southeast Asia.

A SoluM official said, “The results achieved in the Southeast Asian market are the result of SoluM’s technological capabilities meeting the needs of the local market. “We will continue to further solidify our position in the global market, including Southeast Asia.”
