The Council, in agreement with the authorities concerned, will join the complex to the other stadiums for which it is already responsible. Until now, Sonarges, whose capital is 100% owned by the Moroccan State, managed five stadiums, and not the least: the big stadium of Tangier, the big stadium of Marrakech, the big stadium of Agadir and recently it obtained the management of the great stadium of Fez and the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat.

These stadiums were previously managed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Hence the reason for the exception of the Mohammed V complex, which belongs to the city of Casablanca and not to the ministry.

Things have now changed, Sonarghes thus becomes the first responsible for the management and maintenance of the complex knowing that the stadium is about to undergo several reforms. This decision comes in a complicated situation due to recurring problems that have characterized this stadium for several years and particularly the cracks and vibrations in zone 6 of the Complex. This is why the Casablanca City Council has decided to temporarily close this area to supporters.

Thus, and in accordance with the administrative procedure, the complex and all the ancillary structures will come under the aegis of Sonarges within a maximum period of 3 months. The Casablancais well remember the fiasco of Casa Events (which takes 15% of the revenue from each match) in the organization of the Champions League quarter-final matches last season, RCA-Al Ahly and WAC-CR Belouizdad .

It is since this scandal that calls to entrust the management of the Mohammed V complex to Sonarges have multiplied. Today is the culmination, like what, it’s never too late to do well.
