A shock sentence creates anger and protests in Spain. In fact, a Spanish judge has to file a case concerning dozens of women who discovered that they were filmed as they were taking a break to go to the bathroom during a popular festival in San Cibrao, Galicia. The episode dates back to August 2019: the victims said they only later learned that they had been filmed, while they were secluded in an alley due to the unavailability of sufficient public toilets, by various cameras strategically installed and without their knowledge. They later learned that the images had been circulated on porn websites.

As reported by the Iberian media, according to the magistrate responsible for the case, the disputed facts do not constitute a crime but a civil offense. An opinion contrary to that of the prosecutor, which instead believes that a violation of the right to intimacy of the women filmed has been committed. The victims announced an appeal. And as Repubblica says, “large banners and protest choirs filled the streets of San Cibrao, in Galicia. Xustiza Maruxaina, Justice Maruxaina, asked on social networks and in the squares after the decision”.
