The government has set up a ‘special cell’ under the health care department of the health ministry to preserve the history of the July-August student uprising, finalize the complete list of martyrs and injured, treat the injured and help their families.
An office order has been issued in this regard from the Cabinet Department on Monday (October 28).
According to the order, the decision of the Advisory Council held on October 17 to preserve the history of the July-August student uprising, finalize the complete list of martyrs and injured, treat the injured and help their families, this ‘special cell related to mass uprising’ was formed under the health care department.
The special cell will carry out the necessary activities in completing the list of martyrs in the uprising and in this case will take into consideration the list obtained from other sources in the continuation of the list collected by the Ministry of Health and will take into account the system of registration.
To finalize the list of martyrs, the special cell will play a proactive role in collecting new information from all possible sources and if necessary, will go to different parts of the country to collect information and take the help of local stakeholders.
The office order also informed that the cell will help those injured in the coup to get proper treatment in the hospital and besides providing necessary support to the families of the martyrs and the injured, the cell will also help the Ministry of Health to take initiatives to treat the seriously injured abroad.
Moreover, this cell will take necessary measures to collect and preserve the glorious history of the July-August Uprising, besides taking appropriate measures for information research and documentation, and will collect photos, videos, speeches, articles and reports published in print and electronic media of the Uprising. Collect, validate and store required data from cloud sources. The office order informed that the local administration will cooperate closely in this case.
The special cell will provide necessary assistance in making documentaries of the July-August uprising. Actions will be taken by verifying the information published in the media regarding this matter and correct information will be presented by sending a protest letter regarding the wrong information.
The necessary funds for the operation of the cell will be generated from the approval of the finance department assigned to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Finance department will allocate necessary funds for this work.
The team leader of this 10-member cell is an additional secretary, a joint secretary level officer. The Cell will consist of Deputy Secretary, four Senior Assistant Secretary level officials, two doctors and expert representatives, student representatives Abdullah Saleheen Ayan and Cynthia Zahin Ayesha and one representative member of the PID of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The Cabinet Secretary and the Senior Secretary of the Health Care Department will regularly supervise the activities of the Special Cell, the office order said.
