On Friday, <a href="http://www.time.news/hitler-salute-trial-cancelled-still-a-performance-the-night-before-2024-07-05-021428/" title="Hitler salute trial cancelled – Still a performance the night before?

In August, Melanie Müller was sentenced to a fine of 160 daily rates of 500 euros before the Leipzig district court, among other things, for using the symbols of unconstitutional organizations. Müller is said to have shown the Hitler salute at a concert in 2022. Müller has since lodged an appeal against her verdict. The presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction is made.

Nevertheless, the singer had the first consequences; an appearance on November 2nd was canceled. “We have canceled the planned event with Melanie Müller. We distance ourselves from any brown ideology, we have always celebrated colorfully and we will continue to do so,” the organizers announced on Instagram after the court hearing.

However, Melanie Müller’s further appearances took place, including the musician’s continued appearances in Upper Bavaria on Mallorca. Now an appearance at the Oktoberfest in Santa Ponça followed on the Spanish island – but apparently without the organizer’s knowledge.

On Friday, October 18th, Melanie Müller performed various hits on the stage of the Oktoberfest in Santa Ponça. In a video published on the YouTube channel of “Mallorca Magazin TV”, you can see numerous people dancing and celebrating to Müller’s singing performance. However, on the back benches of the marquee the mood seems rather subdued.

Melanie Müller was not involved at all, says Werner Wiedemann, one of the two organizers, to the weekly newspaper “Mallorca Magazin”. Actually only a beer tent singer from Bavaria and a DJ were booked. Müller, who appeared as a guest at the event, then spoke to the DJ, then entered the stage and then sang. Previously, the DJ is said to have asked the crowd whether the 36-year-old should sing, and many guests shouted “yes.”

According to the newspaper, Werner Wiedemann is not happy about this. Since the festival tent was very full at the time, the catering staff were at capacity, so no intervention was made. A request from t-online has so far remained unanswered.
