Sporting: five games, 26 goals… an average of more than five goals per game (!)

Sporting is in a truly impressive phase in the championship. So much so that the team scored 26 goals in the last five games…

Now this gives an average of more than five goals per game: precisely 5.2 goals per game.

The sequence began in the first game of the year, on January 5th, in a 5-1 victory over Estoril. This was followed by a 3-0 in Chaves, then 5-2 in Vizela, the biggest defeat of all (8-0) against Casa Pia and now 5-0 against Sp. Braga.

In between, there were still two games in the Portuguese Cup, both also with strong results: a 4-0 defeat against Tondela and a 3-0 victory in Leiria, against União. Which means 33 goals in seven games, an average of 4.7 goals per game.
