A state level basketball tournament was held on the occasion of Minister Udayanidhi Stalin’s birthday at Cholavanthan Arasansanmuganar Government Higher Secondary School Sports Ground. Cholavanthan DMK 18 teams from Madurai, Coimbatore, Yercaud, Srivilliputhur, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Dindigul, Vatthalakundu, Cholavandan participated in this competition. One division for under 12 years and one division for under 14 years of age took place for 3 days.
Last night the finals were held and the awarding ceremony was held. MLA Venkatesan presided over the ceremony. City council presidents Cholavanthan Jayaraman, Vadipatti Palpandi, vice-presidents Cholavanthan Lathakannan, Vadipatti Karthik, Anayur regional secretary Marutubandian, general committee member Sridhar, union secretary Pasumponmaran, North district youth deputy organizer Vetrichelvan took the lead. City Secretary Councilor Vakiel Sathyaprakash welcomed the event. Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration Murthy, who was present, presented various special prizes and shields to the winning teams and the best players and students studying in the medical college after passing the NEET exam. J-J Basketball Tournament Club organized the function.
