Coimbatore: Easwar Engineering College bagged the first position in the state level volleyball tournament held at Kumaraguru College.
On behalf of Kumaraguru College, a state level volleyball tournament for students was held at the college grounds. The top eight teams from different parts of Tamil Nadu participated in the tournament. In the first round, the eight teams were divided into two groups and the competition was conducted in league format.
The two teams that played best in each group and scored the most points were selected for the ‘Super League’ round. Accordingly, four teams from Erode Kongu College, Easwar College, Shakti Engineering College and Kumaraguru Technical College competed in the Super League round.
In this match, Easwar College team defeated Kongu College team 2 – 0 in the first match; Shakti College 2-0 in the second match; In the third match, Kumaraguru College beat the team 2-0 to take the first place. The winning players were congratulated by the College Chairman Mohanram, Director Rajaram and Principal Sudha.
