BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said, BNP Central Committee Organizing Secretary, Sylhet District BNP Former President, Former Member of Parliament M Ilyas Ali is still waiting for his wife, children, family members and countless leaders and activists of the country.
He said this in a press briefing organized at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan of the capital on Wednesday (April 17).
Rizvi said, today is 12 years of Ilyas Ali’s disappearance. On April 17, 2012, on the orders of the Sheikh Hasina government, Ilyas Ali was picked up by the law enforcement forces along with the driver Ansar Ali from in front of the South Point School and College on road number 2 in the capital Banani. After that the car was found but the whereabouts of both of them could not be found.
Alleging that this government has disappeared Ilyas Ali, he said, it is clear in front of the people that Ilyas Ali was the main cause of the burning of the state machinery and domestic and foreign evil forces due to his uncompromising struggle against the Sheikh Hasina government and his leadership in the mass movement in Sylhet region against the Tipaimukh Dam and border aggression.
Stating that Ilyas Ali stood against hegemony, Rizvi said that the government, jealous of Ilyas Ali’s popularity and organizational skills, failed to deal with him politically and kept him hidden. After the disappearance of Ilyas Ali, the government staged many dramas. At that time, the agents of the government pasted posters on the wall with obscene words written against him. After the disappearance, his wife was sent a text message from the Prime Minister’s office, arranging a meeting with Sheikh Hasina and promising to find Ilyas Ali. At that time, that false assurance was to stop the movement of BNP. GD was filed at the police station after the disappearance, a case was filed in the court. Even then the government did not return him.
He said, the law and order forces were seen making a funny drama of conducting raids in different parts of the country in search of Ilyas Ali. The government also stopped the hearing of Ilyas Ali’s wife Tahsina Rushdi’s Lunar Writ Petition in the High Court. That is, the government has obstructed the High Court’s directive to return the disappeared citizen. In these incidents, it is clear that Ilyas Ali is sponsored by all the missing states.
Joint Secretary General of BNP said, I have seen in the media, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader is shouting for the list of jailed leaders and workers of BNP. Mr. Obaidul Quader is asking for a list of what? The list was given earlier as well. And the list is with you. Law, court, police station, police are in your hands. Obaidul Quader’s nerves are relaxed, his brain is lazy and his heart is weak, so he talks more and more. Your government has disappeared, killed and kidnapped many people without voting. Among them, the United Nations provided a list of the missing. To date, the government has not been able to give any answer without a vote.
He said that Abdul Qadir Bhuya Jewel, Assistant Secretary of Volunteer Affairs of BNP National Executive Committee, was unjustly convicted in a false case. I am deeply concerned about the fact that when he applied for bail in the court today (Wednesday), he was denied bail and sent to jail. Rizvi Ahmed also called for immediate unconditional release of his false case and sentence.
