In this context, the minister highlighted the significant potential of the energy transition to transform the economic landscape of the Kingdom, explaining that although industrial partners and investors are present and motivated, additional efforts are still necessary to ensure adaptation. optimal.
Mr. Mezzour also highlighted the importance of promoting local talents and capacities in the development of renewable energy projects, calling for raising investors’ awareness of this “often under-exploited” potential.
For the minister, the energy transition “should not be considered as an objective in itself, but must also result in the creation of quality jobs for the Moroccan population.”
“It is imperative that our energy ambition is translated into sustainable employment opportunities,” he continued, affirming that the ultimate objective is to convert energy production capacity into sustainable jobs.
The minister concluded by emphasizing the importance of establishing a value chain focused on local innovation, in order to ensure that the benefits of the energy transition benefit not only investors, but also Moroccan citizens.
