Superintendent Lim said this at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) digital education policy training in the second half of 2024 held at the Southern Office of the Provincial Office of Education. On this day, Superintendent Lim said, “Because the artificial intelligence (AI) and digital era is an unstoppable trend, Gyeonggi-do education sites are actively introducing it.”

He continued, “We have developed our own artificial intelligence (AI) teaching and learning platform ‘High Learning’ and are providing one smart device per person starting from the third grade of elementary school to enable customized classes for each student.” He explained, “We are establishing ‘Gyeonggi Online School’ to provide special training to strengthen teachers’ capabilities as well as to expand the boundaries of public education so that even out-of-school students are not left out of education.”

Superintendent Lim said, “From December 2nd to 4th, UNESCO and the Provincial Office of Education will jointly hold the ‘UNESCO International Forum on the Future of Education.’” He added, “Education is a common global task, and the global community can develop together through education.” “I hope that a foundation will be laid,” he emphasized.

A total of 7 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member countries participated in this training, and 17 education policymakers and experts from Brunei, Chile, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, Thailand, and Vietnam visited as delegations.

The Provincial Office of Education plans to continue to expand international educational cooperation and provide students with opportunities to grow into talents with international communication capabilities and global citizenship through various international exchange programs.
