Less than a year ago, the fact that a symphony orchestra would devote an entire evening’s program to the works of Peter Tchaikovsky (1840 – 1893) would have evoked little more than a shrug of the shoulders. Today, culturally and politically more sensitive contemporaries at least raise their eyebrows in amazement at such news….
