The Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, emphasized today, Tuesday, the need for Syria to seek peaceful relations with its neighbors, including Iraq.

Greenfield said in a briefing to the Security Council during a meeting regarding developments on the situation in Syria – followed by the (INA): “We continue to provide humanitarian needs in Syria and ensure access without obstacles.”
She said, “All regions of Syria need additional contributions to the trust fund,” noting, “Syrian refugees are looking forward to returning to their homes and need protection and basic services.”
Regarding Syria’s relationship with the international community, the American envoy emphasized that “Syria must seek peaceful relations with its neighbors, including Iraq and Jordan.”
