Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani said at a press conference with his Italian counterpart, Antonio Taiani, followed by the (INA): “The sanctions imposed on Syria are an obstacle to the country’s recovery,” adding expressed “the Syrian government is committed to the principles and values that promote human rights in light of the rule of law and open a new page so that the Syria being a model of stability, prosperity and peace, and working to create conditions that guarantee dignity. and the safe return of Syrian refugees.”
He added: “I will go on a trip to visit European countries soon, and we are moving towards a national conference to consolidate justice for all, and work is underway to prepare for the Syrian conference, the first of its kind ,” noting. “that the conference will bring all Syrians together and ensure that the next step is devised and that transitional justice is achieved in a way that guarantees a smooth transition in which everyone participates.”
For his part, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Taiani emphasized “preserving the unity of the Syrian territory and encouraging the safe return of all Syrian citizens,” noting: “We encourage all Syrians who to return all their rights to live in their country safely, and Italy is ready to take its role and encourage a new phase characterized by the restoration.”
