Benedict Andrew, 29, a church priest near Thakala, Kanyakumari district, was attacked by a mob a week ago and robbed of his laptop. In this connection, Austin Geo, a law student from Philavilai, was arrested.
Subsequently, a ‘video’ has been released showing Benedick getting intimate and shirtless with a college student. Austin Geo’s mother Mini Ajitha lodged a complaint with S.P. claiming that the student was on the verge of suicide. However, the police action remains under investigation. There is a demand from various quarters that a case should be registered against the priest who took nude pictures of the woman.

In this case, an audio of the priest talking to a student of Kumari district who is studying nursing in Bengaluru has been released.
‘I’m thinking of you… I’m thinking of you,’ he said to the priest, ‘I’m thinking of you.’ On hearing that… Promise swears that he only wants to talk like this to you… Trust me’.
Even after this, all the women’s organizations are silent without any provocation. Benedick is reported to be absconding in Bengaluru.
He is trying to reconcile the families of the women who have complained and not to file a case. As questions are being raised from many quarters, the church administration is considering taking action against the priest.
