# Copilot’s Audio Recap Feature Promises too Reclaim Lost Work Hours
Microsoft’s Copilot is introducing a new feature designed to alleviate teh burden of missed meetings and lengthy recordings: audio Recap. The tool, integrated with Teams meetings, offers concise summaries, allowing users to quickly grasp key discussion points without dedicating important time to full playback.
The modern workplace is defined by packed schedules and frequent conflicts. it’s increasingly common to be double- or even triple-booked, leaving professionals scrambling to catch up on missed facts. Traditionally, this meant sifting through lengthy meeting recordings, often at accelerated speeds, to extract essential details. Now, Copilot aims to streamline this process.
How Audio Recap Works
The feature is accessible directly within Teams. When a meeting recording or transcript is available, users will see an Audio recap icon. Selecting this initiates the recap generation process, which allows for customization based on user preference.
Users can select the desired length of the recap and choose from three distinct styles:
- Executive: This format presents a dual-host discussion focused on strategic insights and high-level takeaways.
- Newscast: A single-host style delivering “just the facts” in a concise and objective manner.
- Casual: A dual-host format offering a more conversational and approachable tone.
Once the desired parameters are set and the “Generate” button is clicked, Copilot processes the recording. The time required for completion varies depending on the meeting’s duration and the number of meetings selected for recap.
A Chaptered Summary for Efficient Consumption
The final product is a chaptered recap, presented as a conversation between two “speakers” who discuss the meeting’s key topics and their potential implications. This format allows users to quickly navigate to the sections most relevant to their needs.”This is a great way to use Copilot to catch up on all the things you might have had to miss due to schedules,” a company release stated.
the introduction of Audio Recap underscores the growing demand for tools that enhance productivity and address the challenges of information overload in the modern workplace. By offering a fast and efficient way to stay informed, Copilot’s new feature promises to reclaim valuable work hours for busy professionals.
