The Telekom subsidiary Congstar is discontinuing its prepaid brand Share Mobile. Customers should take action and look for alternative offers.

Congstar is discontinuing its prepaid brand Share Mobile. The Telekom company will end the offer on November 30, 2024, as Congstar announced on its website. Afterwards, the brand’s customers will neither be able to make calls nor surf the web with their Share Mobile tariff.

Congstar launched Share Mobile together with the social brand Share last year. For every all-net flat rate booked, an educational project in Kenya was supported with one euro per month. According to Congstar, the so-called “Do Good Option” should not be discontinued.

Instead, both companies want to enable the option “for all Congstar mobile tariffs from 2025”. The Telekom subsidiary offers existing Share Mobile customers the option to switch to Congstar. The company promises users who switch to Congstar that they will permanently add 5 GB to their tariff per month.

For users who want to switch to another provider, Congstar offers phone number portability – but only until February 28th of next year. Congstar wants to enable refunds for starter packages or top-up cards for Share Mobile that have already been purchased until March 2027. The cards were available from Rewe and the drugstore chain dm.

According to Congstar, SIM cards that have not yet been used can no longer be activated since October 21st. An exchange is not possible in the Rewe and dm branches. Customers should contact the Congstar hotline, it says.

In this case, according to Congstar, customers should have the SIM card number and the PUK1 code, which is included in the starter package, ready. After the company has checked the data, it wants to send the voucher codes for new Congstar tariffs by email.
