Tenak (Hyundai Shell Mobis) beat his closest follower British Elphin Evans (Toyota Gazoo) by 7.0 seconds. The Frenchman Sebastien Ogier (“Toyota Gazoo”) gave him close competition, but the eight-time world champion crashed into an electric pole on Sunday, one and a half seconds behind the Estonian, in the 17th stage.

Belgian Thierry Neville (“Hyundai Shell Mobis”), who is in the leading position of the overall standings, lost 32.8 seconds to Tenak in the end and was third. The fight for a higher position was denied him by a mistake in one of Saturday’s stages, when the Belgian went into a ditch.

Ahead of the final round of the season in Japan in a month’s time, Neville has 225 points and Tenak has 200, while Evans is third with 186 points.

Latvian pilot Mārtiņš Sesks, competing in three WRC rallies, is in 14th place.

Finnish racing driver Kalle Rovanpere became a two-time world champion last year, securing the title one stage before the end of the season. Rovanpere, who won two Latvian rally championships at the beginning of his career, is not competing in all WRC stages this year.
