Tens of billions of forints have been received from government support to Vác, Szobra and the surrounding settlements, said Bence Rétvári, regional parliament representative of the Fidesz-KDNP, in a video published on his Facebook page, which was viewed by 0627.hu.
Bence Rétvári put it this way: “In the districts of Vác and Szob, a lot of development has been completed and a lot is in progress. Despite the fact that there are economic difficulties throughout Europe, the Hungarian government continues to provide many forms of support and advances certain European Union subsidies and pays them instead of the European Union. In this way, the settlements of the Vác and Szob districts can also develop. In recent weeks, there was a huge celebration in Vác when the internal renovation of the cathedral was completed. For this, the Hungarian government provided approximately HUF 2 billion in support.”
He added that the PüspökVác Visitor Center was completed with another HUF 2 billion – because both are a support for tourism and religious life at the same time – which is not only an event venue, but also a large-scale kitchen, chapel, studio and many other service rooms. is located.
“Thus, we can say that, on the one hand, the interior of a centuries-old monument building has become beautiful, and on the other hand, both the cathedral and the PüspökVác Visitor Center have the most modern equipment. But this was not only an important step forward in Vác for us, the facade of the Piarist high school could also be renewed with government support” – emphasized the Fidesz-KDNP parliamentary representative of the region.
Bence Rétvári also spoke in the video about the fact that in the past the Vác police station and the fire department building were able to be renovated from the outside and partially from the inside as well. He added that the renovation of Külső Rádi út ended a few weeks ago. At the same time, several similar, more important and busier road renovations took place in the surrounding settlements in Penz, or in the case of a bridge at Sződliget. In Váchartyán and Rád, further, noticeably significant road renovations took place, all with government funds, he added.
In recent years, a total of HUF 37 billion in government support has come to Vá
c and its surroundings
The region’s parliamentary representative highlighted that in recent years a total of 37 billion forints have been received in Vác and its surroundings. More than HUF 5 billion from the Hungarian Village Program and 33 municipalities received TOP Plusz support. A kindergarten gymnasium and gymnasium could be created in Kismaros with HUF 300 million. A mini crèche in Acsán was completed, two new crèches were also completed in Őrbottán, and the CsigaBiga crèche was recently handed over in Kóspallag.
From Top Plusz resources, road renovations were carried out in Csörög, Kemencé, Kosd, Nagybörzsöny and Őrbottyan, and in Verőc, from nearly one billion forints. Health care homes were renovated at a cost of one billion forints in Acsa, Kismaros, where they were expanded, and in Letkés and Verőce, the club for the elderly was able to get a beautiful new location.
A total of HUF 3 billion was received for rainwater drainage in Kemence, Kosd, Kóspallag, Letkés, Márianosztra, Nagybörzsöny, Püspökszilágy, Vácrátót, Csörög, Ipolydamásd, Kisnémedi, Sződliget and Vácduka. This includes not only rainwater drains, but also a community square, cultural and community center, or youth park, and other developments. Energetic investments worth HUF 800 million can be realized in Kóspallag, Kisnémedin, Nagymaros, Perőcsény, Vámosmikola, Zebegény, and Vác also won tender support for energy renovation. Kindergarten improvements, kindergarten yard improvements, road and sidewalk renovations, communal equipment purchases and village manager bus purchases can make the lives of local residents easier in dozens of settlements, Bence Rétvári listed.
The Member of Parliament pointed out that rural road developments are important for the development of local economic life, agriculture, access to and operation of other industrial properties in rural areas, therefore it is significant that in Bernecebárati Csővár, Ipolydamásd, Kemencé, Kismaros, Kisnémedi, Kosdon, Nagybörzsöny, Nagymaros, Márianosztra, Püspökszilágy , Szokolya, Sződ, Vámosmikola and It could also be realized in Verőce, worth hundreds of millions of forints.
Local producers’ markets are also important to local producers, which is why we managed to obtain funds for the development of local producers’ markets in Szob, Kóspallag, Ipolydamásd, Őrbottyan and Penc.
Bence Rétvári summed it up like this: “This also shows that the settlements in the Danube Bend that are active and want to develop can count on government support. These settlements received tens of billions, in total several tens of billions, of resources for TOP Plus tenders and local developments despite the fact that Brussels did not disburse it to Hungary. We know the crude political reasons for this, nevertheless, the government decided that these settlements should not be the victims of the fact that the money from Brussels does not arrive, the Hungarian government paid them in advance. We are very happy that many of these have already been completed, and the people living in the Danube Bend can already enjoy the benefits of many of them on a daily basis, the Danube Bend has done this as well.”
What specific infrastructure improvements have been made in the Vác and Szob regions with government funding?
Interview Between Time.news Editor and Bence Rétvári, Regional Parliament Representative
Time.news Editor: Thank you for joining us today, Bence Rétvári. You’ve shared some impressive developments and funding achievements for the Vác and Szob regions. Could you begin by summarizing the overall impact of the government support?
Bence Rétvári: Thank you for having me. The impact has been significant. In recent years, Vác and its surrounding areas have received a total of 37 billion forints in government support. This funding has facilitated a broad spectrum of developments, from infrastructure improvements to educational upgrades. Despite economic challenges faced across Europe, our government has prioritized these regions, ensuring continued progress and community enhancement.
Time.news Editor: That’s quite a substantial amount! Could you tell us more about specific projects that have received funding and their intended benefits?
Bence Rétvári: Certainly! For instance, we’ve allocated approximately 2 billion forints to the internal renovation of the Vác Cathedral, resulting in a beautifully restored historic monument. Additionally, the newly completed PüspökVác Visitor Center, also supported by 2 billion forints, serves dual purposes: it promotes tourism and supports religious life. It’s equipped as an event venue with a large kitchen, chapel, and studio facilities, which we believe will draw visitors and foster community engagement.
Time.news Editor: It sounds like a multifaceted approach to community development. You mentioned improvements to education as well; what are some examples?
Bence Rétvári: Yes, indeed! We used over 5 billion forints from the Hungarian Village Program to aid various municipalities. This includes creating a new kindergarten gymnasium in Kismaros for 300 million forints and completing three new crèches in locations like Acsa, Őrbottán, and Kóspallag. These facilities play a crucial role in supporting families and enhancing early childhood education access in the region.
Time.news Editor: Impressive! Beyond education and tourism, what about infrastructure? There seems to be a focus on local transportation as well.
Bence Rétvári: Absolutely. We’ve initiated significant road renovation projects funded through Top Plusz resources, enhancing connectivity in several settlements including Csörög, and Verőce. For instance, recently completed renovations on Külső Rádi út have improved traffic safety and efficiency. Such improvements are not just about aesthetics; they are vital for facilitating commerce and easing daily commutes for residents.
Time.news Editor: With so much development occurring, how do you envision the long-term effects on the community and local economy?
Bence Rétvári: My vision is one of sustainable growth. As these projects come to fruition, we anticipate a boost in local businesses due to increased tourism and improved infrastructure. Quality of life will substantially improve with better education facilities and healthcare access, leading to a healthier community overall. This holistic development approach is designed to create a thriving environment where residents can flourish.
Time.news Editor: It sounds promising for the Vác and Szob regions. As these projects move forward, how will community engagement play a role?
Bence Rétvári: Community engagement is pivotal. We have initiatives in place to involve local residents in the planning and execution stages of these projects. Their feedback is invaluable in ensuring that the developments align with their needs and aspirations. Regular forums and meetings are scheduled for residents to voice their opinions and stay informed on progress.
Time.news Editor: Thank you, Bence Rétvári, for sharing these insights today. It’s clear that the government support for Vác and Szob is not just about the financial aspect; it’s about fostering a vibrant community on multiple fronts.
Bence Rétvári: Thank you for having me. I’m excited about the future of these communities and look forward to continuing our efforts for their development and success.
