Ha Tinh Province Prepares Hospitals for Surge in Patients During 2026 Lunar New Year
Healthcare facilities across Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam, are bolstering resources and staffing levels in anticipation of increased patient volume during the 2026 Lunar New Year, also known as Tet. Provincial authorities are prioritizing uninterrupted care and rapid emergency response to ensure public health and safety throughout the holiday period.
Preparing for Increased Demand
The Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital, the region’s primary medical center, estimates approximately 300 to 350 patients will require hospitalization during the nine-day Tet holiday. To meet this anticipated demand, the hospital has implemented a comprehensive on-call system, ensuring adequate staffing across all departments, with particular focus on critical areas like emergency medicine and toxicology, intensive care, cardiology, and surgery.
“During Tet, the demand for emergency care may increase due to road accidents, household accidents, cardiovascular diseases, and stroke,” explained a senior physician at the hospital. “We have established full on-call teams to guarantee rapid treatment and prevent unforeseen complications.”
Beyond staffing, the hospital has fully stocked essential supplies, including medications, medical blood, and intravenous solutions, to address potential emergencies such as road accidents, injuries, food poisoning, and acute illnesses – all of which tend to rise during the festive season. Emergency response and liability management plans have also been simultaneously enacted.
Rehabilitation Services Remain Active
At the Ha Tinh Rehabilitation Hospital, dozens of seriously ill patients will continue to receive ongoing treatment and rehabilitation exercises throughout Tet. Hospital leadership has mobilized doctors and technicians to provide consistent support and ensure adherence to established treatment protocols.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Dien, director of the Ha Tinh Rehabilitation Hospital, emphasized the hospital’s commitment to patient well-being. “Our top priority is the health of the population,” she stated. “Even during Tet, our doctors and nurses will rotate shifts to ensure continuity, safety, and efficiency in patient care and rehabilitation. We remain dedicated to respecting our patients’ needs.”
In addition to professional care, the hospital plans to organize supportive activities and deliver gifts to hospitalized patients on New Year’s Eve, demonstrating the medical team’s dedication and compassion.
Provincial-Wide Readiness
Provincial hospitals and medical centers have proactively developed on-call plans and mobilized staff to maintain continuous consultations, emergency services, and hospitalizations. Special attention has been given to allocating sufficient personnel, supplies, and medications to emergency and surgical departments to effectively manage any unexpected situations.
Healthcare institutions are also actively fundraising to provide additional support to patients during the Lunar New Year.
A deputy director of the Ha Tinh Health Department affirmed the province’s commitment to accessible healthcare during the holiday. “All medical institutions in the region have been ordered to fully implement on-call plans and prepare necessary emergency resources to meet the health needs of the population,” the official stated. “We guarantee prompt examination and treatment for all emergency cases, without refusal or delay. Even if a case falls outside a specialty, emergency first aid will be provided to stabilize the patient, with clear explanations given before any transfer or referral.”
Furthermore, the Health Department has mandated that provincial general hospitals establish pre-hospital response teams capable of assisting lower-level facilities during emergencies.
A Commitment to Care
Health facilities throughout Ha Tinh Province have diligently prepared personnel, supplies, and medications to accommodate and treat patients during the upcoming Tet celebrations. As families gather to celebrate the Lunar New Year, healthcare professionals – the unsung heroes in white coats – will continue their vital mission. Thanks to meticulous preparation and unwavering dedication, authorities are confident that patients will receive attentive and timely care, ensuring a peaceful and successful celebration for all.
