A soil digging event was held on Thursday at the residence of martyr G. S. Lakshmana at Gopichettipalayam on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association and Sukra Vision India Foundation to set up a memorial to the freedom fighters.
Film directors RK Selvamani, RV Udayakumar, Prameru, Lingusamy, Seenuramasamy, Chitra Lakshmanan, Rajasekhar, Mithran, Jawaharlal, Arunraja Kamaraj dedicated the statue of Tyagi Lakshmana Iyam to the statue of Martyr GS Lakshmana Iyam at Thakkarbaba Vidyalaya School, Kopichettipalayam. They paid respects by wearing garlands.
Following this, soil was taken in the memory of martyr Lakshmana Iyer. Later, tributes were paid by sharing the life history of martyr Lakshmana. Prominent dignitaries of Gobi participated in this program.
