That’s changing for Apple users

The WhatsApp developers have released an update to the messenger for iPhones. Using the chat program is now more convenient for users.

WhatsApp chats can now be accessed directly from the iPhone home screen. This is what the update 24.21.81 of the messenger for Apple devices makes possible. The update comes with a practical innovation: a WhatsApp widget for the home screen of Apple cell phones.

The widget allows users to access a selection of chats directly from the home screen. Users can decide for themselves which chats should be displayed.

You can choose from recently used chats, chats with people marked as favorites, pinned chats or messages with the most frequently contacted people.

To add the widget to the home screen, all you need to do is press and hold your finger on the home screen. Then users need to click on the “Edit” header in the top left corner of the display. By clicking on “Add widget” the application can be selected and placed on the home screen.

In addition to the widget, the update 24.21.81 offers further innovations: Among other things, WhatsApp on the iPhone now supports a 0.5 to three times enlargement of the camera image.

Users can also mention other people in their status. “Tap the @ button in the input field during the editing step,” write the developers in the release notes for the WhatsApp update.

The WhatsApp update for iPhones should be released in the coming days for all users of Apple devices starting with iOS version 12.

Just a few weeks ago, WhatsApp released numerous new functions for all users. This included allowing users to share their screen and the associated audio with the participants in the call during a video call.

The developers have also increased the number of participants in video calls to 32 people. Since then, during such calls, the service automatically highlights the person speaking with a frame around their video and the image is displayed first in the app.
