A statement from the League of Arab States – and the (INA) later said: “on the initiative of the Arab Republic of egypt, and in cooperation with several other countries, the Council of the League of Arab States has held a meeting on the evening of the 12 December to form a united Arab position regarding the occupation of the Zionist army on… Additional lands in the occupied Syrian Golan.
The statement added, “The outcome of the meeting was the issuance of an Arab resolution condemning the entity’s incursion into the buffer zone with the Syrian Arab Republic and a series of neighboring sites in Mount hermon, quneitra governorates, and the countryside of Damascus, considering this. a violation of the disengagement agreement concluded between Syria and the Zionist entity in 1974.”
The Saudi resolution emphasized that “the aforementioned agreement is still valid in accordance with Security Council Resolution No. 350 issued in the same year,and thus the impact of that agreement on the political change that Syria is currently witnessing .”
The resolution condemned “the ongoing Zionist raids on several Syrian civilian and military sites,” stressing that “the Golan Heights are Syrian Arab land, and will remain so forever.”
The resolution called on the international community to “compel the entity, such as the occupying power, to comply with the relevant resolutions on international legitimacy, in particular Security Council Resolution No. 497 of 1981, which calls on the Zionist entity to withdraw from the occupied Golan.”
The statement concluded, “According to this resolution, the Arab group in new York was assigned to move to hold a special session in the Security Council to discuss the practices of the entity that is a threat to international peace and security, including the new occupation of Syrian lands in which. the Zionist entity has come into affect from the eighth of December next.”
